Now I am not a very big fan on acne home remedies. I prefer to buy something that I know works and that scientists have made. I guess it really comes from fear though. I am afraid to mess up on the ingredients and hurt my face. However, there are a ton of homemade acne remedies that do work to heal acne. Thses remedies have been around probably for hundred of years, longer than the acne products on the store shelves, so maybe I missing out on something here. What you do is up to you and your skin. You may want to try a few of these acne remedies though, before you shell out hundreds of dollars trying to find the right product for you in the stores.

One very common acne home remedy is using toothpaste on the pimples. Apply the toothpaste at night before you go to bed. Only apply a small amount of toothpaste to the area and let it sit overnight. When you wake up in the morning simply wash your face off. You should see immediate results of clear beautiful skin. Try this for a few nights for the best results.

You Own the Best Natural Home Remedies for Acne

A great cystic acne home remedy is mixing honey and oatmeal together. Apply to the infected area and leave on for at lease a half an hour. It might take a little while to get the right mixture of honey to oatmeal before you get it right. Try this for a week and by the seventh day, the infected area should be drastically smaller. You can also try just a honey mask. Honey is a natural antibacterial ingredient and it has enzeymes which will help fight acne. Honey is great for both dry skin and oily skin. Apply the mask and you won’t believe you eyes. Dampen your face with water and apply a little bit of honey until your whole face is covered. Wait 15 minutes and then simply wash off the honey mask with warm water. That’s right the honey will not drip off your face and you don’t even need soap to wash off the mask. Warm water just melts the honey away. This mask truly is amazing, you have to try it. The honey from the honey bear works just fine, but you could try the other more fresh local honey in your area as well.

Another one of the great home remedies for acne is mixing lemon juice and rose-water together. Spread on your face and let dry. After about an hour, wash your face. You should notice that the pimples decrease in size and they will not be as red. Try doing this for a week and your pimples, black heads, and white heads should disappear.

You Can Find Acne Home Remedies that Work

Spraying apple cider vinegar mixed with water on your skin after you get out of the shower will help reduce the amount of oil production in your skin. You don’t have to spray it on either, you can use the mixture as a toner and just swipe it on a cotton pad. Your face will feel so refreshed afterwards. It really is amazing how many benefits apple cider vinegar has. Read up on it, you will be surprise how many areas this wonderful product can help. This toner will help regulate the amount of dead skin cells in your skin and help get blood flow going right again. Make sure to mix half water and half vinegar or else it could do more damage to your skin than good though. Do this on a regular basis to see the best results and achieve better looking skin.

Taking an epsom salt bath is a remedy that will get rid of blemishes that form all over your body. An Epsom salt bath is one of the excellent back acne home remedies that will work. Just make up a warm bath and add a few tablespoons of the salt into the bath. The mixture of salt and water will help detoxify your skin and get your cells moving again. It will reduce the amount of redness that you see, and help keep your skin be nice and smooth. Take an epsom salt bath once a week for best results.

These acne home remedies that work are better than having to go to a dermatologist who might decide that you need laser acne removal to get rid of the unwanted blemishes. It can cost up to a few thousand dollars to get this type of procedure done so this should be your last resort. Plus, who wants to spend hundred of dollars on acne skincare products that don’t work? Or who want to spend that money are testing out the products when you can make one at home for free. However, if you find that none of these acne treatments have worked then you may have to go to the doctor and they will prescribe a prescription strength acne medication that may get rid acne. But before you do that read up on reviews. Know what ingredients make the acne worse and what heals the acne. Everybody’s skin is different so all you can do is test to see if something works for you. Definitely try all of the wonderful home remedies for acne first.

Blackheads are caused by excess oil that clogs the skin’s pores. Usually our first reaction of how to get rid of blackheads is with our fingers. This method can be done in a safe way, without damaging your skin. Before you began using any method, covering your face with a warm cloth will help bring the blackheads to the surface, making them easier to remove.

The Popping Pimples Method: First, clean your face thoroughly with a good gentle facial cleanser. Dry it completely and then cover your fingers with tissue to prevent damaging your skin with your fingernails. And to avoid spreading bacteria and oil from your fingers to your face. Gently apply equal pressure to both side of the blemish and push the blackhead out.

The Toothpaste Method: Apply a small amount of toothpaste to an extra toothbrush. Wet the brush and the affected area. Brush the area with the toothbrush for a few minutes each day and you should see a difference in the amount of blackheads you have.

Honey: You may be wondering how to get rid of blackheads with honey, but it really works! Honey is good for your skin. Honey acts as a natural peel for your skin, since honey is naturally anti-bacterial and has enzymes. Apply warm honey to your blackheads and leave on for about 10 minutes. Just use a little bit and smooth it over your whole face for a nice relaxing mask, don’t worry it wont drip off or be a sticky mess. The honey rinses off very easily with just warm water!

Baking Soda & Water: Mix equal parts of baking soda and water and apply to your blackheads. Rub it into the pores and rinse with warm water. This will remove some blackheads.

Chemical Peels: Chemical peels can work very well for removing blackheads. The downside to this is that is must be done by a licensed skin care professional and can it be very costly. Your dermatologist can give you more information or recommendations if you are interested in chemical peels. You can also use a less potent form with over the counter chemical peels or an Alpha Hydroxy Acid product. Make sure the AHA acne product is pH balanced.

Blackhead Removal Gun: A blackhead removal gun is like a small vacuum that sucks the blackheads from the skin. They are not powerful enough to damage the skin, but they may not be as effective as some other treatments.

Metal Loop Extractors: Metal loop extractors are long metal tools with small metal loops on either end. They are used by pushing them into the skin to push the blackhead out. If done incorrectly, they can cause damage and scarring to the skin so be sure to follow all directions closely. Do not press too hard, if the blackhead does not pop out then it is not ready.

Blackhead Removal Strips: We’ve all seen the blackhead removal strip. You place it on your nose (the most common area for blackheads to appear), let it stay on for a few minutes, and rip it off. These can be really useful and you can see the blackheads that have been removed right on the strip. If you have a large amount of blackheads, it may take a few tries to see a significant difference in your amount of blackheads. I have used these before and they don’t work very well on my skin, but they might work great for you. I have friends who love these strips, because they do indeed work!

Tweezers are sometimes used to remove blackheads but they can cause bleeding and scarring and is not recommended. Some people believe that using regular scotch tape will heed the same results as the blackhead removal strips. Applying regular school glue to the area and allowing it to dry before peeling it off may also show some results. The glue works similar to the strips. Masks also work great. Try a sulfur or clay one to really get rid of those blackheads. I like Queen Helene’s Mint Julep sulfur mask, it works amazingly well. It helps keep all kinds of acne away. And it is unbelievably cheap for a big tube too!

After extracting your blackheads, use an Beta Hydroxy Acid pad or a toner to dry up and close the pore.

To keep your blackheads from coming back, make sure you are not irritating your skin with any products. Only start one new product at a time. Give it time for it to work before you start another. If you start a whole bunch of new skincare products at once you will not know what is breaking you out. Hot showers or facial steaming and a mask once a week can also help keep them away!

Popping pimples can be oddly addicting. Seeing the pus pop out of your face is extremely gross, but fascinating. Also, feeling the release can make a pimple feel so much better and it seems to heal faster too. However, many doctors say never to pop a pimple, because it can cause infection and scarring.

Preventing the pimple from forming is the best case scenario. Unfortunately, finding the right acne treatment can take forever. Trying skincare product after skincare product can even make acne worse. However, finding the right product for your skin takes trial and error. Everybody’s skin is different and what may what for someone else with your skin type may not work for your skin type.

Read Acne Treatments Ingredients
In order to find the right acne medication for your skin, you have to look at the ingredients on the acne treatment label. Different ingredients may affect your type of acne and skin type. Finding out which ingredients work to clear your skin of pimples, is key to stop popping pimples. It may take extra time to research and trying out the product, but your skin is worth it.

Do not start with a whole bunch of new acne treatments at once. Buy one new product at a time. Give a new product about a month before tossing it. Let yours skin react to a new product and see how the new treatment works for you.

Stop Popping Pimples
Exfoliating your skin will help to get rid of dead skin cells and clear pores. Some manual scrub exfoliates can be too rough on acne prone skin and actually aggravate your acne. Beta Hydroxy Acid or Salicylic Acid is a chemical exfoliate, which may be more gentle. Beta Hydroxy Acid gets deep down into your skin, cleaning out the pimples. Make sure your Beta Hydroxy Acid product is pH balanced of 3 with a 2% of Beta Hydroxy Acid level. Beta Hydroxy Acid is famous for getting rid of acne. However, it may not work for everybody.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid is another chemical exfoliate that can work to get rid of acne. Make sure the product has a 10% of Alpha Hydroxy Acid with a pH of 2 or 3. A product with a pH of 3 for example is more effective on preventing pimples than a product with a pH of 4. You can also layer the two Hydroxy Acid products over each other, but be sure to wait 20 minutes, to avoid interfering with one product’s formula and effectiveness. Or you could alternate nights or wear the Alpha Hydroxy Acid in the morning and the Beta Hydroxy Acid at night.

Other acne treatments to prevent popping pimples are Benzoyl Peroxide and Sulfur. Benzoyl Peroxide comes in many gels, lotions, and creams varying in strengths of 2.5%, 5%, and 10%. Try out a lower percentage and if your skin does get irritated or dry, then try a higher strength. Sulfur can also be a good acne fighting treatment. Sulfur comes in an pimple spot on treatment or in a mask form for oily skin types.

Then there are prescription acne treatments, which many people with severe acne may have to resort to. Yes, it may be more expensive, but once you find the right product for your skin, you will save by not testing out any more products. And your skin and confidence is worth it. Accutune medication can also work for many. In addition, Retin-A, works double for premature anti-aging and healing acne. If you can not afford Retin-A check out the drugstores for a weaker form of Retin-A, such as retinol or retinaldehyde. Retinaldehyde is stronger than retinol, but weaker than Retin-A, which could be perfect for your skin and wallet.

Don’t forget to wear a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen always rain or shine. Wearing these acne treatments can make your skin more photosensitive to the sun, which can cause more wrinkles and acne scars. Find a sunscreen that your skin likes, there is one for every skin type. Check out my other post for more information on broad spectrum sunscreens and preventing acne.

Do not give up hope, you will find the right acne treatment to clear your skin. Read reviews, keep testing, and then stick to what works. Popping pimples can end for you, believe that you will find the right skincare product.

Popping pimples can be avoided by finding the right skincare products for your skin type. How is your skincare regime? Every product that you use on your skin affects acne.

Facial Cleanser
You do not necessarily need a medicated facial cleanser aimed at getting rid of pimples. Some medicated facial cleansers can be too strong and irritate your skin, thus aggravating acne. Make sure to use a pH balanced cleanser that is made for your skin type, but also know what your skin type is. With all of the acne treatments you are using, you may want a gentle cleanser. Acne prone oily skin types may do better with a gel cleanser made for sensitive skin. Acne prone skin is sensitive after all.

Consider all you options before buying. Also, make sure to check out the ingredients label on the facial cleanser. Sulfates can be strong for acne prone types. Sulfates is just a cleansing agent, but use one with gentle sulfates or sulfate free. Make sure to completely remove your sunscreen and makeup before washing though. And be sure to massage your face with the facial cleanser for about 30 seconds in order to get all the dirt off.

Moisturizer
Not everybody needs a moisturizer. Watch your skin and see if it needs it. Using a moisturizer when you don’t need one may just cause you to start popping pimples again. If you skin is dry then use moisturizer in the morning and at night, but if your skin is oily than sunscreen in the morning is often enough. Also, you don’t need an expensive moisturizer, a simple one that just moisturizes will do. Let acne treatments get rid of acne and let lotion moisturize.

Toners
There are many toners containing acne medication promising to erase pimples. Toners can also be strong and contain too much alcohol. Try using a gentle toner to refreshing your skin and bring your skin’s pH balance back to normal after washing. So make sure your toner is pH balanced.

Remember not to try a whole bunch of new products all at once. Start one new product at a time, and give it time to see how your skin reacts. If you start using a whole bunch of skincare products, you will not know which product is breaking you out. Don’t forget to keep your hands off your face, try not to even scratch your face throughout the day, because that can cause more acne. So slowly start a new acne fighting routine that works for your skin and stop getting pimples and popping pimples.

Believe it or not, sunscreen will help you stop popping pimples. Do you wear sunscreen everyday? Sunscreen protects your skin from the damaging sun’s rays. The sun’s rays can cause acne scars, wrinkles, sun spots, and cancer, so it is very important to wear sunscreen everyday.

Wear sunscreen everyday rain or shine to avoid popping pimples. The sun’s rays can affect your skin even on cloudy overcast days. The sun’s rays can also penetrate through windows, well the UVA rays can. There are three types of sun rays: UVB, which are the strongest and cause the burning, UVA rays, which cause the wrinkles, and UVC rays which are also harmful but weaker than UVB rays.

Some people with acne prone skin, especially the oily types run as far away from sunscreen as possible. They cannot imagine putting on thick sunscreen that will make them look more oily and possibly break them out. Believe it or not, there is a sunscreen lotion out there just for you. Yes, there are plenty of sunscreens for oily skin that will not cause acne. You just have to find the right one in order to stop popping pimples. Reading reviews and trial and error is the only answer.

Doctors recommend wearing an SPF of 30 nowadays. Not all sunscreens are formulated the same to effectively protect you from all of the sun’s rays. Some sunscreens have little to no protection for UVA rays. The SPF Sun Protection Factor, number is for the UVB rays protection, not UVA rays.

Read Sunscreens Active Ingredients

Europe has a UVA rating system on their sun block bottles, but the United States does not have a rating system yet. So you have to read the active ingredients and make sure those percentages are high as can be. Pretty much anything with the Sun Sure technology, Helioplex, and Mexoryl ingredients mean the sunscreen is stable with good UVA protection.

Yes, check out the actual sunscreen in the sunscreen aisle, because many of the skincare moisturizers do not have adequate amount of protection for everyday use. Make sure to apply 1/4 teaspoon to your face and a 1/4 teaspoon to your neck. Again everyday sun exposure does add up. Avoid premature aging, acne scars, and popping pimples by wearing sunscreen everyday. Sorry, about mentioning ‘everyday’ so much, but it really does help all skin types.

Have faith, you will find a sunscreen that you love applying everyday. Keep looking for sunscreens, there are even ones that will make you more matte. And you can always return a sunscreen if it does not work out for you. Remember, everyday rain or shine, to prevent acne scars, wrinkles, and popping pimples!

You can also try using a pimple extractor tool for popping pimples. Using a tool will eliminate using your oily fingers. Many people love using the extractor tool for whiteheads and blackheads. An extractor tool may not be for everybody though, try one and see how you like it. Whether you use a pimple extractor tool or you fingers over a tissue, popping pimples can be scary and strangely addicting. Make sure the pimple is ready. And keep your hands off your face as much as possible.

They are all reasonably priced and pretty much never have to be replaced. Of course, their design may become better with time. There are many different brands of the pimple extractor tool. Some are cheaper than others and some work better than others. The Tweezerman extractor gets rave reviews. However, the only way to tell is, by trying one out for yourself.

Popping Pimples with the Extractor Tool Steps

First, disinfect the ends of the extractor with rubbing alcohol, rinse the tool off and then dry it completely.

Wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap. Wash your hands for about thirty seconds to kill all the germs. Then wash your face with a gentle facial wash for about thirty seconds.

Use the large metal loop for large whiteheads and the small loop for small pimples or blackheads. Gently press the loop over the pimple’s head until you pop the pimple and puss comes out, stop when you see blood. Do not press down too hard or you could cause scarring or infection.

Splash your face with water again and hold a tissue against the pimple until it stops bleeding. Apply acne medication to the pimple to heal it. And disinfect the extractor tool again with rubbing alcohol and keep in a dry clean place.

Using an extractor works well and often times better than your fingers for blackheads. If you are having trouble removing blackheads, why not see if an extractor will work for you. Steaming your face with water beforehand can help open your pores, making the blackhead removal process easier. Popping blackheads with an extractor requires the same gentle rules. Do not press to hard or you could cause more infection.

Some people will find they do not care for the extractor tool at all. Keep in mind however, that using the acne extractor may take some getting use to. Some people like using a disinfected needle to gently prick the head of the whitehead and then use the finger popping pimple method. An pimple extractor may not work well for very stubborn blackheads. In that case pop pimples with your fingers and or try acne treatments.

Popping pimples is hard to resist, but should you or should you not pop that pimple? Many expects say to never pop a pimple, because it can cause infection and/or acne scars. Well, it definitely depends on the pimple. There are many different types of pimples, such as whiteheads, blackheads, or cysts.

Acne Vulgaris: most common type of pimple, which includes whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts.

Acne Conglobata: usually found in males and is a severe form of acne vulgaris of blackheads and large lesions.

Acne Rosacea: can look similar to acne vulgaris and commonly appears as a red rash and in nose, forehead, cheek, and chin.

Acne Fulminans: commonly found in male teens and appearing with severe ulcerating acne.

Gram-Negative Folliculitis: this rare condition is a bacterial infection characterized by pustules and cysts, possibly occurring as a complication. And it is not known whether it occurs more in females or males.

Pyoderma Faciale: severe acne commonly found only in females, usually between the ages of 20 to 40 years old, and is characterized by painful large nodules, pustules and sores which may leave scarring.

Make sure you are popping a pimple that is a whitehead or blackhead that is ready to pop. Be careful about assessing what type of pimple you have. Seeing a dermatologist can help you characterize the acne. A large red bump could be a cyst and popping one will just make things worse.

Before popping a pimple make sure you and it is ready to be popped. Yes, it is hard to be patient, but patience is a virtue. Wait, until the pimple comes to a head and you can see the white pus. Do not try to pop the pimple when it is red, because you could cause infection. Popping the zit before it is ready will also cause it to look more red and ugly than before.

Popping Pimples Steps

Wash hands and face thoroughly when the pimple is ready. Make sure to wash you face with a gentle soap and pat dry.

Do not use your fingers to pop the pimple. Your fingers contain all kinds of germs and bad oils, even though you just washed them. Instead, use a tissue.

Place the tissue over the pimple and gently squeeze the pimple with your fingers. If the pimple does not pop easily then it is not ready.

Remember the pimple should pop effortlessly, squeezing too hard, may cause an acne scar. Stop trying to pop the pimple and wait until later that day or the next day.

When the pimple is fully ready to be popped, squeeze gently until all of the pus yellow/white fluid comes out. When you see blood stop squeezing and press the tissue against the pimple until it stops bleeding. When it stops bleeding put some acne treatment on the pimple to disinfect and heal it. Popping pimples right can be scary, painful, and addicting so make sure to pop them right.
